Hey, by golly I didn't notice that. My M1009 has the chain but the M887
doesn't. I'm guessing that all of the utility doors and the contact maintenance
trucks were keyed alike too as mine has hasps added to each door and has a slew
of cut padlocks inside. Also found that it has a chain welded to the bottom to
lock the spare tire to the truck. I guess soldiers A & B were concerned that
soldiers C and beyond might steal their spare rolling stock! Any American Lock
specialists out there? I have a question on the GL5200 lock used by the Govt.
