Sorry I used metric dimensions , the first
number is the number of strands , the second the thickness of the strands.
Flex ,or multi strand should be used because vibration and ease of fitting ,
thick single conductor will soon snap ! 14/0.3mm =1 square mm{0.0030sq" }
rated at 8.75amps, 28/0.3mm=2 square mm {0.0060sq"} rated at 17.5 amps. The
sectional area of all the strands is what counts for current carrying not
the outside diameter of the bundle , awg is the od .of one strand . 14AWG is
2mm dia but not 2 square mm .
