Sounds normal. The older ones use the NP218AM and the newer ones use
the heavy duty NP242AM. The tags are on the 242 also.

I have one for you guys: I noticed today on this Humvee that I just
bought , on the back of the transfercase there is a round aluminum tag
about two inches in diameter held on by one screw in the middle of it.
It says New Process Gear, under that it says model 218AM, under that on
the left side it has assy#5579 & to the right of that it has 508, then
it has Ser#31 on the left and to the right 85 1 and under all that it
shows ratio 261, Saracuse, N.Y.
What is this all about? Do all of them have this same tag or is this
something that has been modified?
Thanks,
Sonny
