Yes , thats almost certainly unburnt fuel , Brian ! Who rebuilt the
injectors , a diesel shop ? UNLESS you have the specialist gear for pump
rebuilds DO NOT even try to dismantle the injector pump . It will cost good
money , into the $100s for a proper do , but it`s the only way.
At the point of injection the compression temp is not high enough for
ignition of all the charge , some is just vaporising , hence the smoke . The
fuel is getting into the cylinders {smoke } , are you sure the injectors
are spraying properly and at the right pressure ? IF the rings and Valves
are OK , and the timing is RIGHT ------------,WAIT A MINUTE ! is the air
intake /filter blocked , is there a dead rodent or bird in there somewhere ?
As I was saying , if the fuels getting in through good injectors , then the
pump is reaching the right pressure .
If it clears with revs I Still say , timing or compression !
LOOK FORWARD to being proved wrong !
best wishes and good luck . Noel
