Assuming that "3 in 1" is similar in the USA to what it is in Oz, then
it is basically a very light weight oil (first crack in the refinery)
and would be highly vapourific. Another name is "Sewing Machine Oil"
and it would not be that far removed from gun oil.
I would be surprised if it hung around.
