Of that I would not doubt.

It may be the B-24. I vaguely recall being able to see the turret
doors when looking down a Lanc fuselage. But I will stand corrected.

No argument there. I want to know how the designers thought anyone
was going to get to a parachute rack in any bomber that was badly
enough damaged that the crew would prefer capture to staying in it.
