The name is actually pinion brake. I just sold
one via eBay a few days ago. ;)

You know, this would not be a terrible solution
for a backup brake system. It would require a
totally seperate hydraulic circuit and pedal, but
hey, not the toughest thing ever. For a one time
"stop a speeding deuce" duty, it could be a life
saver.
