I helped overhaul a Ford 8 CWT that had a semi-seized flat-head engine. The
engine would turn over 3/4 of a crank turn then stop, thought we had a
seized valve. Turned out a mouse had used one of the rear cylinders as a
grain bin. The rodent got in there through an open intake valve and a air
cleaner that had been left off. After we pulled the head and removed 3
inches of compressed oats the engine actually ran pretty good.
That is my stuff were it is supposed to be story.
Cheers
Rick

You don't have to store them outside for years for this either.
One friend who owns a Bren Carrier went out in
the spring to his carrier to move some tools and
found mice had nested in the rear tool chest in
just a few months time.
