Around my neighborhood your more likely to see rubber
tracked vehicles, like your hi-track JD's,
8310T's-8400T's than the old steel tracks on a D8 or
D9.
Those things seem to way out perform the metal tracks.
They are fast, much faster than metal, real quiet, low
maintenance, last a long time and easier to replace
than metal track. They have rubber tracks now for
skidders too. Go just about anywhere you wanna go.
Anybody ever hear of all rubber tracks on an assault
vehicle? Sures seems like a good idea if you need
that kind of traction.
