In the fire service, we call those 'picket stakes'. We put about 4 or 5
of those together, lash them properly and use in cliff rescue when there
are no other suitable anchors available. We set one up for a training
evolution once, attached a static rope to the anchors, and the entire
group of about 20 firefighters grabbed and pulled with all their might.
Anchor didn't so much as budge. A good trick, as Noel said, provided
you use the right size poles, have good soil, and lash them together
properly.

stuck and needed to winch out...
