Ryan,
If you utilize common sense you can do it yourself without any degree of
concern. I watched seventeen and eighteen year old newbe's change those
type tires using chains when no cage was available for more than twenty
years when I was in the machine and never an accident in any unit I was in.
Now I did read in safety bulletins about accidents where due caution was not
taken.
I'am not recommending you do it, just passing on my personal observances and
experience doing them myself. I wouldn't want to be hauled across the coals
by Bruce Kalin like he did when I told Bjorn Brandstedt that "if it were me
I would haul the logs and not stop at weigh stations" but lets not get back
in to that. Maybe Bruce is right, maybe I'm paranoid.
Sonny

What should I expect them to charge? ie what's
reasonable? There is a commercial truck dealer
just around the corner, but I don't know if they
do these kinds of tires or not (guess I'll find
out). I think the GF and I can squeeze the tire
into the back of her Honda Element. It won't fit
my Insight.
