Re: [MV] M35 sustained speed? (M756 too)

Here's a little story.

This summer I was in my deuce going to a truck show
lumbering along at 55 mph and the engine running
2200-2300 rpm. (11.00 singles gave the extra road
speed) The pump is also turned up mildly to an est.
155-165 hp. Would you believe a lone National Guard
deuce pulled on to the interstate so we were almost
dead even? I had a slight speed advantage so I pulled
back into the right lane ahead of them. I figured I
would pull away and leave them in the dust.
Surprisingly they kept up, even up some mild grades.
Eventually they started gaining on me and actually
passed me. I rolled down the window to listen to
their truck and could hear their engine running quite
a bit faster than mine. (it was also funny to see the
look on their faces) After they passed me I tried to
catch up and gained only a little up a grade.
Otherwise they walked away. Why? Maybe because they
could care less if they threw a rod. Then the old
heap could be retired and they would get a new truck.

I realize the above doesn't have any proof of engine
damage but it sure as hell didn't sound healthy.

Do what ever you wish. To each his own.
