I can pretty much blame "Rat Patrol" for both my hobby and my current
occupation and probably a good 70% of my (interminable) childhood. I don't
consider that at all a bad thing. I think some of those shows helped set
the moral compass for the generation that missed "Have Gun, Will Travel" and
"Davy Crockett and the Alamo" by a decade or better, and magically - we grew
up as military vehicle collectors and history nuts instead of anything more
handcuff-worthy. Not sure you're going to get that from "Survivor" reruns
or Spike Lee films featuring the moral ambiguity of Da Hood.
