If you're doing this from the top you will find it
well worth the time and aggravation to rig a sheet of
plywood or a plank to lay on while under the hood
instead of trying to lean over the fender! Especially
if you aren't really tall or have to get to the back
cylinders for long periods. Make it so it sets on the
radiator mount, you can lay your tools on it, too.
Two step ladders and a plank acrossed for one end.
