Has the fuel solenoid dropped ? faulty wire ? If the lift
pump or filters are gone then on cranking you will get no fuel , as each
cylinder should emit a pulse of fuel on injection . Remove a pipe and
observe what happens , no pulse , no fuel . Only if you are getting fuel and
have cranked for a long time will you get a hydraulic lock , but since the
amount injected is so small it is more likely to pass the rings and land up
in the oil pan . Can`t help with the metal noise , drive to the injection
pump if no fuel pulse ?
