Actually, Brooke Clarke has an excellent adaptor available
that allows the use of off-the-shelf "D-size" alkaline batteries..
I have two PRC-77's with the adaptors in the battery boxes.
see his website at: www.prc68.com
and look at the: 257477BA Version 7.2 battery adaptor..

Listers, I've gotten several requests for PRC-25 and -77 batteries after seeing my webpage at: http://webs.lanset.com/buzz/misc/batteries/batteries.html I am convinced that there are no good BA4386 batteries in exsistance. To make your own battery go to: http://www.armyradio.com/publish/articles/power_up/PRC-25.htm for instructions.
