Program was abandoned and test vehicles disposed of. Considered a failure.
It was reported in the press that it was not worth the money.

I don't know what the delay is with getting this technology into actual
production. Several years ago there was much hub-bub about retrofitted
HMMWVs that used hybrid technology to make them quieter, reduce heat
signature, and reduce logistics issues (i.e. fuel and engine parts).
There was a really nice article in MV Mag in fact. One of the vehicles had
individual electric motors, one per wheel, that would also allow for zero
radius turning. But nothing to my knowledge is on the slate for production,
even though similar technology has been in civilian use for a number of
years. Anybody know anything more about this?
