Why not a simple Lo-Pass 60 Hz filter, L-C type.
Just enough to smooth out some of the discontinunites of the stepped
voltage thats generated by the inverter.
Smaller and less weight than a transformer.
Just another possibility.
An inverter (24V/12V to 110VAC) driving another
inverter (PC power supply) can, at times, be loads of fun. :-)
