I am putting a dump bed on a M543 we bought as a cab and chassis. I am
trying to install a pump on the rear pto on the transfer case and I have a
question. It doesn't appear to be any way of controlling this pto. Is this
pto live anytime the transmission is in gear? My only real concern is if
the pump turns in reverse while backing the truck up. This truck will not
be road worthy and will never drive more than a few hundred yards at a time
ever again.
Also, if we decide to use the pto for the winch, does this pto have the same
gear and bolt pattern as the common pto's found on most modern trucks? It
looks the same but with the military I would be surprised.

PS. Spent several hours today working on my M35A4X4. If I didn't have to
swap cabs with another truck I would be through. Which brings me to my last
question, how the heck do you pull the steering wheel off of a M35?
