Sonny,
The rear interaxle drive shaft was removed for these trips.
The front drive shaft was left in since the front wheel drive was needed
from time to time. With only one axle driving in the rear, traction was not
enough on a slight incline such as the driveway at the building site and
front wheel drive had to be engaged "on the fly". The front wheel hubs were
never freewheeling.
Fuel milage averaged 8.3 loaded and 9.2 empty.
