Its a type of Mack WWII era cargo truck. They
came in many forms (cargo and semi tractor
mainly). They also had civilian versions. As
pictured here:

The WWII truck was a 7.5ton 6x6 prime mover as
pictured here.
http://tanxheaven.com/mackNO/mackNO.htm They were
used in this role as a heavy tractor for the
larger artillery that wasn't towed by the High
Speed Tractors. When you look closely at them,
there's not much difference in basic components
or layout and the more modern M900 series trucks.
All the guts are basically the same.
Mack also made a 10 Ton 6x6 designated the NR.
See http://www.mvmodels.com/WW2heavy.html for some nice models.
