Hi Jack ,
Still feel it`s an ignition fault , on HT ! Check the
resistance from INSIDE the cap on segment to plug tip , much over 20K Ohms I
would compare with other cylinders ------ BUT
The compression pressure is on the low side and at below a 100psi things
start to fail , this may be right on the edge and No2 has gone past it !
Try pouring a cap full of gas in the cylinder and quickly put plug in and
start--- any better ? briefly ! An old trick was to put a small amount of
EP90 gear oil in the cylinder to raise the compression .
There is / was a device called Gunsons colourtune that allowed you to see
the colour of the burn for tuning and also IF there was a spark in the
cylinder under test , this would settle the argument about spark or NOT !
Like the rest, I look forward to hearing you`ve cracked it and what
was the cause of all this trouble !
