Geeze... I was expecting a horror show the way you guys were talking
about it, but this is NOTHING compared to some of the things I've seen
done to Weasels :-) As in taking a body of a VW Microbus and putting
it on top of a stripped down Weasel chassis, or a 1960s Volvo coup too.
This one at least has a chance of going back to what it should be.
Plus, those redone tracks are worth about 1/2 of what the whole rig is
currently going for.

Actually... the American tracks were the ones that had the poor showing
in Indochina :-) The American tracks were designed primarily for the
light fluffy white stuff up north, not the sustained abuse of jungles.
So the French had to make their own tracks that would hold up to the
conditions. They probably worked pretty well, but mind you... they
suck pretty bad for everything else! Too heavy and overly complicated.
I've got a couple of French tracks and they're pretty much junk now
thanks to Father Time and his sidekick Rusty Steel (sounds like a soap
character or porn actor, come to think of it <g>).
