I agree, been using HUMV plugs in my personal CUCV'S for years. seems to end
all swollen glow plug problems from over voltage!! Quick and dirty but it
works. I make a short (1") adapter harness so it can be put back with no
problem if somebody else wants to.
The other thing to understated is that ALL glow plugs have a shelf life. The
problem being that they suck up moisture and that causes them to short out.
Not a problem in an engine, but loose on the shelf.... This is why the HUMV
plugs now come sealed in packs of 8 instead of loose like they used to! This
is according to a glow plug manufacture who was explaining various problems
with the CUCV plugs to me a while back.
