That thought crossed my mind also. But, if leaking makes truck not start,
wouldn't no pressure switch do the same? Unless.....you connect 2 wires
together? Like switch is still there?

Here is what it is and does from a good friend of mine.

<It is used on military vehicles only and is used with the STICE diagnostic
system and is only <wired to the big connector that you see under the
dashboard. It is a vacuum switch and tells <the STICE that the transfer
fuel pump is working.
