Chris & List,
I recently converted my jeep from 12V back to 24V. So... I have lots of
parts if ya want, cheap too! Honestly, I mainly want to unload them for
the storage space.
Tips? The wiring terminations are all different, on 24V Military vs. 12V
Civvy. So you might find yourself crimping and soldering and such. I
highly recommend NOT hacking up the original wiring harness - it's
valuable! Do whatever you can to preserve it. You can get some
used/junked wiring harnesses and parts on ebay (like I did) and possibly
from some local boys so you can rig up some wiring on the 12V parts to
plug into your original wiring harness without any permanent changes.
This way you get your 12V, and maintain as much of the original value
and potential conversion back to 24V as possible.
Also, on the exposed terminations, it's best you waterproof them... I
remember at battlebots people were using some rubbery compound to seal
terminations and connections. It was covered in one of the rules in the
last competition. I don't know what the product used was called, yet I
bet this list can help you on finding the right stuff!
I also recommend selling the 24V parts you're going to take out to
fellow MV'ers, like me! =D

Subject: [MV] 12v M38A1
HI Everyone - I'm rebuilding an M38A1 from the ground up. I'm thinking
of converting it over to 12v. Any thoughts on this? Is there anyone
out there that has done it before and could give me some tips, good and
bad.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the m38a1
Thanks
Chris
