I heard Ebay was actually going to go to this as a feature that sellers
optionally employ on a sale by sale basis to defeat snipers.

I haven't bid on GL auctions recently, but the sliding end time was part
of the deal, at least that was my understanding.
I'm surprised that Ebay hasn't gone this route also. It more simulates
an actual auction - and helps propel Auction fever.
