Bruce, there is a guy on our list that distributes semi-synthetic gear oil.
It is used by many, including myself, with good results. Can be delivered to
your door in 2 gallon jugs. His name is Terry Lane.

Have fun.

Subject: [MV] Gear Oil
I know this has been hashed around, but I am in a bit of a bind.
I need to change the oil in the transmission and differentials on
my M54A2 5 Ton. I am having a hard time finding 5 gal
buckets of GL-1 or any of the GL ranges that specify not
harmfull to yellow metal.
My question is, can I use 90-85 weight oil? Are there
any other types that are normally readilly available that I can use?
Thanks for any comments both good and bad,
Bruce MVPA 23824
