I have been told that RT-524 are wide-band, and I know
that HAM stuff is narrow-band, so that could cause
problems too. However, I have used the RT-524 as a
simplex repeater with a 6 meter handi-talkie with no
problems. The 150hz tone squelch could be modified to
work with the common ctcss frequencies.
