Thanks for all the inputs!!! You guys are awesome.
My truck is a 1986 M1008.
The new steering stabilizer helped A LOT! There still
seems to be a very slight vibration/shimmy. I think
I'll put new shocks on it, then take it down to have
the tires balanced and front end/alignment checked
just to be safe.
On another note, top end speed on this seems to be
about 50-55mph (comfortably). I'll like to swap gears
to get it up to around 70mph. Has anyone done this,
if so, what gears did you end up going with? There is
a local 4-wheel drive shop that is willing to do this
in trade for the axles off my parts M1008. Does this
seem like a fair trade? What is the going rate for a
set of 1-ton axles?
