Hi Timmy:
I prefer to voice my opinions and displeasure with your attitude and
actions in public: the sunshine of many readers scrutiny helps to bring
truth and expose shame. I am often exposed by the masses as being wrong,
but I learn from it.
I seriously doubt that voicing my opinions to you in private would have
brought more than a snotty and demeaning note in response (as they have
in the past). Secrecy is one more trait of despotic regimes...
In reality does your event affect me? ...No, Not in the least. Does it
bother me that your messianic tendencies offend people in the hobby? A
bit. Does it offend me that you and your friends dress up in uniforms
that you did not earn the right to wear? YES, to the max. My father is a
WWII vet, (as were 7 of my uncles spread across the 5 services), and I
can tell you from long discussions gathering oral histories with him and
members of his VFW post, that those uniforms were earned with sweat,
blood and tears, something that most of you, thankfully will never
know...
Good luck, God bless (Wait, Missouri Univ is a public school, can I say
"God" in an email? I have such problems with this politically correct
stuff.), have fun with your event next year. Just try to think who *YOU*
are offending.
BTW: Love the pix that you guys posted on the web last week.

If you have an issue with my event, or the way my event is ran I suggest
you contact me directly and talk about it....nazi regime are some pretty
strong words.
As for the local Memorial Day event, it is totally her event but it is
also completely inconsistent in how it is ran...they were willing to
have my WWII vehicles in the parade but my then wife couldn't ride in
them, nor could I wear my period uniform with it...but could wear my
modern uniform.

That whole wine country tour seems to be run by some sort of "Nazi"
regime. The chap "Tim" who cries foul when a parade committee does not
want his ilk seems to be throwing stones in a glass quonset hut.
Given the "convoy" is driving on public roads, I think that next year
people who are being excluded should just join in the tour. (Other than
stops on private property.) I think it would be a hoot to show the
public the real fun and history of Military Vehicles. Isn't freedom what
the real heroes of WWII fought for? (Not these wannabes who play dress
up and steal others glory, while claiming to be "educating" the public).

This situation seems a little familiar to me, Oh yes, it reminds me
of an email that myself and a friend of mine received when we offered
our M-series wreckers and lowboy to go along with the first WW2 Convoy
through the Missouri Wine Country. We were told not to attend. Since
then Mr. Hobbs who portrays General MacArthur has asked me why I don't
go and I have not had the heart to tell him we were forbidden to go.
I guess Ford Excursions and red GMC 18-wheelers are true (i.e.:
WWII-era) military vehicles, whereas a 1952 military wrecker would
detract from the theme.
