I am interested to hear some about this as well. Mine does the same thing
below 1/8 tank. Its almost as if the fuel drains back. It will fire almost
instantly, then quit, and take a bunch of cranking to get it runnin. Only
in the morning, only when the tank is that low...

I will add that when its hard to start and it finally fires off, it runs no
problems, even down to a 1/4 tank or lower, which I have never taken it
lower than 1/4. I wouldn't think a pickup tube could cause that. It also
seems that when the truck is parkd on a slight uphill, the front end facing
up the hill, it happens more frequenly when the tank is low.
