RE: [MV] Aervoe Paint

Hey all:

Just to weigh in on the paint issue, as most of you know I used to sell
Gillespie paint, and can still highly recommend it. (I use Dupont
Centari with flattener for my own vehicles, but most people don't want
to spend $160.00 a gallon for paint for an MV).

But two anomalies that I can point out re Aervoe:

1- I painted my M37 8 years ago with spray cans of Aervoe 24087 (Lots
and Lots of spray cans...) and it has not turned pink, faded or
flattened to notice. It has been parked outside for 6 of the 8 years and
the inside panels look just like the outside panels. DO THEY FORMULATE
THE SPRAY CANS DIFFERENTLY THAN THE GALLONS?

2- This will open a can of worms (And this is one of the reasons that I
stopped selling paint. You can blame Jim Gilmore for it, in his usual
mean spirited manner, he publicly condemned Gillespie's colors as not
being correct.) The colors of the Aervoe 383 green are said to be closer
to real CARC green paint. I don't know, but Ronzo has his M35 painted
383 green and it looks good.

Be Well all,
Hank

One more thing. If you are looking for a mil-spec alternative. Sherwin

Williams can mix mil-spec paint at many of their commercial paint
locations. It's not cheap, but repainting an entire vehicle due to
faulty paint is a waste of time and money.

Good Luck,

Dave
