Just a quick note to thank all of you that have contributed manuals,
parts, money & time for the restoration of Huey 764. It is most
appreciated!! Please keep up the great work and help send the word to
anyone that you know who may be interested in assisting in our
restoration of this fine aircraft.
A short note to outline our first plan. We intend to get her cockpit
back in working shape with all instruments and radio/navigation control
heads in place and WORKING!! We will set up an outside power supply and
put in a view screen for showing DVDs of Vietnam Hueys going about their
daily tasks. We will tour school children, Scout Troops, adults &
Veterans through her with a crew in flight gear showing each function of
the aircraft and how it works. Once we get the radios up and running we
will have a couple of HAM operators using the FM on 6 meters from the
aircraft to a ground station in the museum to show how the radio systems
between the aircraft and Troops on the ground worked. A PRC-25 will be
the base station in the museum.
We are still in need of several flight instruments and radio/navigation
control heads to finish this first stage of restoration. If you or
anyone that you know can help please let us know!
Also please take a moment to join our web site/discussion group on 764.
The link is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HUEY_UH-1 and it is of
course free. I try my best to keep it updated on a daily basis. We
welcome each and every one of you and your family and friends! Please
join and help us discover the wonderful world of Huey restoration!! :-)
Best Regards,
Ed Kirkley, Crew Chief
Huey 764
