Hot Shots are truckers/runs that will go to a location pick up a particular load that's not nearly the full capacity of the truck but has to be expedited. They'll take it to the destination directly, no intermediate loads or stops to pick up or drop off. Charges are higher for the customer because the truck isn't running a full load, but the drivers have to really work their butt's off to get the loads from the dispatchers.
