Sounds like a neat item. Being an alternator, it's going to be putting out full wave rectified AC at a high frequency, so a separate 12v battery might still be needed, acting as a mega-capacitor, as well as maybe to keep the alternator happy. Does the manual state that this second, 14v output also needs a battery or is it a either-or, but not-both setup? Very cool. Jim
