I spoke to one of the MV canvas dealers at the Portland MVPA convention and
told them they should make the samll into a room air freshener. The guy's
wife just rolled her eyes! They did start to come out with canvas "air
freshers" that where just strips of scrap cloth. :) They mentioned the
smell was from the preservative. I just canvas seats in my Mutt just for
the smell!

Glen

Subject: [MV] Military Canvas smell
Does anyone know what causes military canvas to have that wonderful odor it
has? Is it a particular brand of preservative, or some chemical concoction I
can whip up in my garage?
I'm restoring some canvas stuff, and would like it to smell good as new!
