WEARE RALLY NH SNAP REPORT #2

Just got home from Rally 1/2 hour ago.
Short report on high points of since last report....
Late Friday a privately owned HMMET from Long Island rolled in (Driven
all the way!!!!). Had an S250 on bed with a plasma TV, toilet and all the
comforts....sweet!
Paul Balageron from RI showed up with his CCC tractor and trailer
hauling his two M114 APCs. Then Pat Whitehouse rolled in with his M3
Halftrack.
Sat morning, up the road comes an M5 Stuart, M24 Chaffee and an M3
recon car, all owned by the same guy, who had trucked them in from New York.
Word gets passed that the local PD has given it's blessings for the
armor to travel over the road from the rally site to the local flood control
area (Federal land) where we had been given permission to have trail rides
on the dirt roads. About 20 miles total.
We form up with the APCs, tanks and both M3s following Phil Waterman's
CMP 'Beast' taking the lead, followed by 26 other HMVs and me in my 'new'
M1009 as rear guard.
Losta folks come out of the houses to see what's making the dishes and
windows rattle, and watch the procession pass.
Speaking from new experience, tanks on trail rides kick up a lot more
dust on dirt roads than Deuces!
Had numerous photo ops and set up a high speed pass along the road of
each piece of 'big stuff', one at a time and then in a group, past the
photogs. APC's and the Half track can rally haul the mail and the Chaffee
was no slouch either. The Stuart was kept at fairly low speeds because of
the pounding the crew takes from it's suspension.
Then back to the rally site for the Ham banquet and the Auction.
Some rain Saturday night, then off to the Weare American Legion Post for
breakfast Sunday morning, and back to the rally site to break camp.
Dr. Deuce, please correct designations/fill names and details I'm
missing.
I'll post some pictures to the net this week and drop the link here if
anyone is interested.

Weare 2006 Rally is on 362 days away!!! Mark your calendars!!!!!
