air brake question?

List,
I finished my 1986 yr. M105A2 trailer restoration using Gillespie
zinc phosphate primer, triple sprayed and literally poured into the
folded seams.
I then used 1.5 gallons of Gillespie sand flat tan, thinning it at 80%
paint
20% xylene as Mark told me. I assembled everything back and it looks
better than new. I need a set of standard metal bows if someone knows of
a set out there.
I hooked up the air brake hoses and was going to take it for a spin
behind the truck and the brakes were locked up tight. No move!!! I
hooked up hoses yellow to yellow and red to red. I had to bleed the
little tank under the trlr to release it. What is wrong with the
system? What do I need to adjust so the brakes don't lock up when air
lines are attached? Is it as simple as adjusting the shoes?
Thanks,
terry Lane
