I hate to sound like a hard-hearted guy, but the road to ruin is paved with good intentions. Critical incidents are often complicated by people with the best intentions who really want to help. Ol' Sarge's time & money would be better spent by contacting another similarly equipped MV-er who is closer to the action and willing to help, by sending him a check to make things happen. All the money being spent for fuel just to get there (I don't think we discussed how he intends to get BACK) could buy that much more stuff that's needed over there.
On the other hand, I hope he's successful and I wish him the best of luck!
