A lot of "veterans" tell me how trouble-prone the automatic transmission can
be in my M35.

When I owned a Dodge Command Car, "veterans" would come up and say "Nice
Jeep!"

Now I own a '54 Dodge Power Wagon, and the teenagers ask why I put "those
big wheels and tires" and the "lift kit" on an "old pickup truck."

Back in the '80's I owned a "poor man's" Porsche, the Model 914, and was
doing the restoration myself. I had the body work completed, and had painted
it in flat black primer. I parked outside a gin mill one night, and when I
came out to drive home, a cop was explaining to a couple of babes that the
car was coated with "military radar-absorbtion" paint, which he felt was
illegal.

There is a lot of enjoyment in owning odd automotive critters, not the least
of which is the public's perception.
