My apologies to all,

I have just now had the time and resources to get on the computer since
I left.

My nephew, who is training to be an ignorant little redneck peckerwood,
and who is staying at my house while I am on duty, thought it would be a
fun thing to 'elaborate' on a rumor and IGNORE my instructions not to
dare send mail from my account, while enjoying the PRIVELEGE of using my
internet connection and PC, and the PLEASURE of reading this list and
the others to which I subscribe.

To clarify, my nephew posted that post. There is some truth to it,
perhaps more than less. But I am not happy with the post at all.

The part of there being gang members at one shelter is true as was told
to me, but I have no exact information as to the details of what the
soldiers did at the shelter, except that the problem was solved by the
TXSG, and the gang members were mollified into obesance. I will try to
find out more later.

There is no problem at this time (see above) and no cause for alarm,
only maybe some vigilance. The Civil Air Patrol is also participating,
helping us with communicators for radio duty.

At this time I have also had -my own- "quiet little talk" with my
recalcitrant nephew, and I am very certain that he is both dreading my
return and considering his error in judgement. He is probably reading a
book on how "the world does not revolve around BS artistry and creative
writing skills" right now as well, since I have remotely locked him out
of the computer and I have no cable.

Ahem..

As to the sentiments expressed in the e-mails to this list, I find
myself, as a private citizen, in general agreement.

There are certainly a few wolves hidden among the sheep (wolves in
sheep's bling?), and I am most concerned for Dallas my home town right
now. As for the razor wire, it's a free country. I disagree with it,
because the best course of action is to help the good people (99.9%) to
find jobs and try to get them into apartments for the time being. Now,
those that don't want to accept the help of the offer of work, they will
become obvious soon enough, for they will be the healthy ones "remaining
and complaining" in the shelters alongside those unfortunates who can't
work.

One thing that does not seem to be well understood is that these people
are tired, dirty, out of cash, angry, feel as though they are 'cargo'
being bussed and moved about, and this is what causes the hollering and
scenes seen on TV. The news is not going to show you a clean nice
shelter with well fed peope and happy children running around. The news,
having only a prurient interest, prefers to show every possible pit of
squalor instead.

We in the south and southeast have a long road ahead of us, and as a
Texan, I am for helping my fellow Americans, by getting them a means to
earn a living, even if it is at first merely subsistence. The aid will
not continue forever, that is certain. Actually, there should be a heck
of a lot of honest work back in Louisiana in about a month.

I am in the guard to defend the state of Texas, not to engage in
razor-wire oppression. (although you could ask me about my ideas on a
wall along the Rio Grande some time.)

The good news is that I might roll the deuce for commo duty in Dallas
soon.

God bless America

Patrick J. Jankowiak
