There was a UK company called Feggans Brown who made full size replicas,
including the Spitfires ( on ground) for the famous TV series Piece of
Cake - and others. I believe they also made gate guardinas to replace the
real ones so they could be sold and restored.

Subject: [MV] SPITFIRES AND HURRICANES
Dear list.
Here in England a relative of mine makes film props for a
living and over the years he's done some interesting jobs and made some
great props. One job he had to do many many years ago was to make 1 to 1
scale Spitfires and Hurricanes that were used as Gate Guards for RAF
Airfields and sites. These are absolutely correct and the original cast's
were taken from real aircraft and not from blueprints like some. As the
cast's are now gathering layers of dust he wondered if there was a demand
for this sort of thing in the re-enactment / collectors world? He dosent
know cost as yet but he says if theres enough interest he will start to look
into things deeper. He can also make parts of the Aircraft form resin and
glass fibre, so if you want just a Spitfire propeller or wing then that
fine?
Thanks for your time
