Just to remind our readers this weekend is the 65th anniversary of the
Battle of Britain. 100 veterans of "the few" attended a gala dinner at RAF
Northolt on Friday night, with HRH Duke of Edinburgh. Each was presented
with a bronze propeller with a diamond in the centre - designed by Faberge.
Inside the dining room was fully operational Spitfire. Aviation artist David
Shepherd was present and some of his paintings were auctioned off for the
charity. Britain will never forget these legendary pilots who saved this
nation in our darkest hour.

If you have never seen the film "Battle of Britain" - get the DVD its a real
classic and so so true to real life.
