In pondering the cooking oil idea I've come to understand that with a heated
tank (Non-heated in summer) I can filter the oil with off the shelf filters
and run it in as fuel with no problems.
Q 1. Am I missing anything here.
The next thought is how to plumb it in.
If I plumb it through the primary and secondary filters I will have (3 ?)
gals of cooking oil in the system to burn before shutdown.
Q 2. Do I need a work around for this problem?, (inline filter with the
T/Valve just before the injector pump?)
Q 3. Pump for the oil tank, Short term I'm looking at a 30 gal drum in the
bed, what suggestions for the fuel pump?
(how much output is needed).
Q 4. Re-interation of an earlier question.
What can be mixed with the oil to keep it from gelling up? (minimum
amount diesel?) (other additives?).
Is it a given that the oil and Diesel/additives will separate?
Thanks in advance for the thoughts and answers, and yes I do tend to over
analyze before I do anything.
BTW, thanks for all the help on the battery questions, problem solved for
now.
