Good Morning Gentlemen ,
How do you do a compression test with the injector removed?
You buy or make an adaptor to fit the hole , an old injector with the GUTS
took out will often do ! A brake flex hose , or hydraulic will couple and a
0-500 + psi gauge ! Job done !
IF you`ve got a gasket gone between two cylinders then both will inject but
neither fire , result lots of diesel fumes NOT anti freeze !
The loss of one pot may not be that noticeable , but two would make it shake
! You don`t say if you`ve cheched the coolant level , is it down ?
Your injection pump should be full , throttle spindles DO leak , often
fitting new O rings cures this !
I know this is the realms of the specialist but the injection pressure can
be checked ,using a 0-3000psi gauge !
IF one or more injectors have been squirting rather than spraying you may
have oil dilution , if the level gets too high in the pan , IT WILL come out
everywhere !
A dropped valve would give the symptoms you describe !!!!!!!!!
Timing gone way out ?
Damaged piston ?
Good luck, Noel
