Re: Sandblasting / data plates / 5T parts

Hi guys,
I believe I have finally got to the "dumb stage" where I'm
thinking one thing and typing another. Perhaps I was wrong in the
sense that I should have said " instruction plates" instead of " data
plates". Yes, the data plates, on the dash, are attached with philips
head screws. But, the plates I was referring to are on the front/rear
winches, crane, etc. They are attached with rivets. My plan is to

center punch the heads, approximate the diameter and drill them out.
Upon reinstallation, I am assuming that I can use a conventional pop
rivet to reattach them. While I understand how and why that the duct
tape will work, I prefer not to have to hunt these things down, if
things go wrong, and with my luck it will. When it comes to Murphy's
Law, I am the poster child (lol).
As to the sandblasting, I am still in a quandry as to whether to
use the conventional dry method or use the Hydrosander. Flash rust
does occur quite rapidly, but I not sure that it is a factor, as long
as the surface is dry and primed soon after.
Now, here's the most important part. Thanks to EACH person who
has replied, unfortunately my lack of ability to recall names is
exceeded only by lack of computer skills ! (lol). So, that having been
said, I really appreciate ALL input and thoughts. If you guys have any
more thoughts, suggestions, etc. , by all means, post them.

Thanks again,
John
