Hey John, 3M makes an adhesive backed rubber product used in sandblasting.
When I was making tombstones we had a guy that would make this mask on the
computer then cut the mateial in a while sheet. We would apply this to the
granite and weed the material out of the latters and design making a mask. The
stuff turns brown as it gets hot but it works pretty darned good. We did use
quality duct tape for little touchups as well. Sorry I don't have a source
for the 3M product. I actually had the guy make me a bunch of 3" stars while
I was there. Uesd them as a paint mask. Worked good!
