Note - the following may not be in keeping with your state's laws.
Most of us consider our MV's as vehicles to be used for our personal enjoyment (which makes us pretty smart folks in my estimation). This is what has compelled so many of us to join MV groups and spend our kid's college money on big green machines.
However, a much more energetic group is out there, manufacturing, buying, selling...and seeking legislation favorable to their cause. They are the people we see tooling around the country in their big honkin' palaces on wheels. I wrote this this way, so that you would start thinking of RV's in the proper context.
An RV is NOT a vehicle you really, really REALLY enjoy driving. If this were the case, my 1980 L82 Corvette would qualify as an RV. What an RV -IS-, is a vehicle that was DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED for overnight accomodation. It has plumbing and all the other assorted and sundry items that we associate with typical recreational vehicles.
So, unless you are prepared to make some serious modifications to your MV, it probably won't qualify you for any RV exception/exemption to the CDL rules. Sorry Charlie.
