I spent less time reading the CDL handbook and getting my CDL (with
airbrakes and combo) than I spent reading the pros and cons. You don't
need a class in Washington State. Just read the little book and take the
test. Do I need the CDL? Probably not. Will it ever be an issue?
Definitely not. Total cost: equivalent to a half tank of fuel for the 5T.
Seriously, it's not that big of a deal to get it. The book has some
good tips in it for deuce and bigger rigs. Jim
